چکیده

Abstract The experiments were conducted in the Laboratory of Tissue culture/Department Forestry/College Agriculture and Forestry/the University Mosul. To propagate three citrus rootstocks (Citrus aurantium L., Citrumelo swingle , Cariso 35 (C35))In vitro . During Initiation stage, single nodes planted on a solid MS medium supplemented with five concentrations BA (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 mg L -1 ). After four weeks, best significant percentage response for Cariso35 while highest value effect was at 2 (96.67%). No. shoots there are nonsignificant differences, While shoot (1.41) obtained length (2.14cm) compared other rootstocks, so that, 1mg achieved (2.01 cm). At multiplication (2.68shoots), whereas adding gave (3.10). as soon as, (1.03cm) Cariso35, control treatment increase (1.30cm) which differ significantly from treatments. number leaves (11.50 leaves) mgL dominated 11.00 leaves. In rooting stages, 60% cultured MT medium, but non-significant difference between all IBA concentrations. roots 3.28 concentration 1.5 values (2.90 2.24 root) respectively. shortest duration to formed 21.56 18.60 days

Morphological Description of Three Potential Citrus Rootstocks

Morphological studies showed that tree shape in Bitter sweet orange and Yuma citrange was spheroid with spreading growth habit and wide branch angle. Leaves were simple with dark green color, medium size and brevipetiolate in Sour orange while Yuma citrange had trifoliate leaves with medium and green color. Bitter sweet orange had the highest leaf lamina length (10.4 mm) than other rootstocks. ...

Reaction of citrus rootstocks to Meloidogyne javanica.

The response of Citrus spp. and related rootstocks to a population of Meloidogyne javanica was evaluated in a screenhouse experiment. Palestine and Rangpur lime, rough lemon, sour orange, Sexton and Thentriton tangelo, and Volkamer lemon were not infected by M. javanica. Galls and tip swellings were observed on the roots of Poncirus triloliata and Troyer citrange. There was no evidence of nemat...

Micropropagation of mature tree of Citrus limon

A protocol for in vitro cloning of mature plants of Citrus limon using nodal shoot segments has been developed. Three to four shoots were induced per axillary meristems on MS medium amended with 9 μM BAP. Repeated transfer of the initial explants for up to six passages on MS medium [having 50% of the original concentrations of NH4NO3 and KNO3, and supplement of 250 mg L (NH4)2SO4] with 0.22 μM ...

Field Performance of Grafted Fruit-Tree Rootstocks Was Not Affected by Micropropagation

The use of micropropagated trees has been widely extended, since micropropagation is a convenient technique of vegetative propagation that shows a number of interesting advantages, mainly for woody fruit trees. However, only few studies can be found in the literature on the field performance of micropropagated trees. In this work, the performance of different micropropagated fruit-tree rootstoc...
